I hold a Bachelor's degree in Sociology-Anthropology from Morgan State University. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Bluefield State College. Additionally, I hold a Master's degree in Special Education from the University of Alabama. I keep my skills current by attending numerous workshops, conferences, meetings,and training sessions each year in addition to doing regular internet research and reading in my area.

Experience

 In my early days as an educator, I served as a paraprofessional in a reading lab. I have worked in an institutional school setting. I taught in the general education setting at Westlawn Middle School in Tuscaloosa, AL. I have taught in both the high school, middle school, and elementary school settings in Wilcox County. I have taught both in the Special Education and in the general education settings in Wilcox County. My former students include several teachers and administrators in our county school system.

 I have been an educator for over thirty years. I have taught and am currently certified and highly qualified to teach science, social studies, reading and English in grades 1-9 in the general education setting.  I am also certified and highly qualified to teach Special Education in grades pre-kindergarten-grade 12. I have taught some of my current coworkers and parents of many students who attend school here, and am pleased to be teaching your child also!
